A couple of weeks ago, a few of the Testology crew took to the fields and stands of Gosterwood Manor to shoot guns, rep Coldplay (all will be revealed), and support the wonderful charity that is Special Effect.

The Games Guns Giving event hadn’t been organised for a number of years, but it was back… and it was fun! Four Testology members cocked their shotguns (not actually theirs), shot with precision (not always), and bruised their shoulders (deeply) across ten stands of varying difficulty. Clays shoot from left to right, back to front, up and down and, on one stand, so quickly that all that seemed to be shot was thin air. But we did shoot quite a few of them we’ll have you know!

Although we didn’t win the final award for top clay marksmanship, Tom Husbands (a Testology tester and besotted Chris Martin fan) won a signed Coldplay tee in what was a very well stocked raffle. What a lucky guy!

With all of the shooting, networking, eating, and raffling, we had a great time and would like to thank everyone involved with the organization of the event. Who knew that shotguns would be so fun… we had a feeling they would be!

Special Effect put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.

By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, they’re finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities.

But they’re not just doing it for fun. By levelling the playing field, Special Effect are bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.

Until next year!
